Enfold – a poetic contemplation on water and our relationship to it.
Combining dance and live music, Enfold explores the increasing global concern of community displacement and relocation due to rising sea levels as a result of climate change. Sound, movement and image are interwoven by Australian Javanese dancer/choreographer Jade Dewi Tyas Tunggal and musician Ria Soemardjo, to create a work that evokes the rituals of migration, settlement and seeking asylum. Audiences are gently invited into an intimate, direct encounter with objects, movement and live sound.
A shared journey between audience and performer, Enfold transcends Australia’s shorelines as we collectively search for meaning and connection in an increasingly displaced world.
